Physiological Assessment for Endurance Training Optimization
The key to MAXIMIZING an athlete's performance is understanding their physiology then individualizing and optimizing their training accordingly.

Training optimization STARTS with regular physiological assessment. This helps us understand WHAT type of athlete we are dealing with, HOW training affects them, AND allows us to make more informed decisions for our athletes to help them be more efficient with their training.

This course will teach you the principles of physiological assessment and how to implement your results to optimize an athletes training and racing! I am looking for AT LEAST 15 interested Coaches and Athletes to attend this 6 week course (live zoom classes once per week for 2 hours), starting the first week of January.
Train Your Athletes Physiology!
Every coach and athlete who wants to optimize their training should assess their physiology. Determining metrics like an athlete's maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), first and second threshold, economy, and their limiter allows us to understand what is going on underneath the hood which will lead to more effective training decisions.
Over the last decade I have assessed and coached hundreds of athletes, while teaching over 300+ university students how to effectively evaluate physiology and implement the findings into an optimal training plan. Now I want to teach you!

This course combines everything I learned from my coaching, research, and teaching experience and presents the theoretical AND applied physiological knowledge that will help you run effective INDIVIDUALIZED assessments and apply the findings of those assessments into a more effective training plan!

Whether you are just learning about physiological assessment (from popular health and wellness podcasts), just bought a new metabolic system for your clinic or coaching business, or are regularly using physiological assessment already, this course is for you!
In this course you will learn what physiological metrics we can measure that are important for endurance performance; how to design appropriate assessments with the technology you have AND the individual you are assessing; and what to do with the data you generate from your testing and assessment.

Learning Enviroment!
PREVIOUSLY RECORDED LIVE LECTURES - This course will be recorded live over 6-weeks, if you miss a live lecture, that is not a big deal, you can watch ALL of the lectures, see all of the slides, read all the articles, and engage in all of the assignments!
Google Classroom – The course is hosted on Google Classroom (link sent after you enroll). Each week’s lecture will be recorded and posted on the google classroom site so you can review as needed.

The google classroom acts as a forum to ask question, complete assignments (all of them are optional but will greatly help your ability to talk about these topics) and communicate with me. This is also where I make announcements and communicate with the class.
